Club Baseball at Mason

This is a picture of the club baseball team at our inaugural game at Longwood University in Farmville, VA.

In the Spring of 2010 I started the process of creating the Club Baseball program again at Mason. It was a long and tedious process that hit many roadblocks, including getting interest and funding. These obstacles were overcome and in the Fall 2010 the Club Baseball team had their first competitive season. It was a great and valuable learning experience and many friendships were gained. We had a losing season but the experience we gained will help to ensure that the 2011-2012 season will be a great one.

Introduction

I am a junior at George Mason University and this blog is for my GOVT 300 course. I am a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and founded the
Club Baseball team. This blog will focus on baseball.

Baseball is a team sport played with 9 players. They include the catcher, pitcher, 1st baseman, 2nd basemen, short stop, 3rd basemen and three outfield positions. Left, center, and right. There are 9 innings at the professional level and it takes 3 outs to end your half of the inning totaling 27 outs. My favorite team is the Boston Red Sox. They play in the MLB which stands for Major League Baseball, which consists of the American League and the National League. The Red Sox are in the American League.

• Not every game has this capability.
